My final thoughts on the Spring 2016 anime season. *Spoiler Free*

Yes I know I'm very late, Sorry. Again I'll keep it short and sweat. I've watched all aired episodes as of writing. I'm not listing series that are continuing into the Summer 2016 season, such as Re:Zero, Twin Stars... I will keep spoilers to a minimum as much as possible. Official (*=Unofficial) English translation contained within「」. As a scores may change I wont be listing them here but if you want a score, You can find my watch-list on Hummingbird (I know MAL is better but it's too late now) hummingbird.me/users/APasz Dropped Tonkatsu DJ Agetarou - episode 5 Usakame - episode 6 These simply weren't gelling with me. High School Fleet「Haifuri」 So it actually ended up being at least half way decent. It's not brilliant but if you like warships, douzo. As far as I can tell it is quite accurate, not 100% by any stretch of the imagination but close enough, unlike something like, Ars Nova. Gakusen Toshi Asterisk: 2nd Season「The Asterisk War: T...

Time and Date formats.

I wanted to give my take on the debate about which date and time format is the best. The are 3 main formats for dates and 2 for time. D/M/Y, Y/M/D, M/D/Y, 12 and 24 hour time. There are other formats but these are the main ones. So why do I use Y/M/D 24h in a country that uses D/M/Y 12h? It's simple really but first, lets all agree that M/D/Y makes no dam sense. Anyway, moving on, D/M/Y and Y/M/D Makes sense because it goes from smallest to biggest or biggest to smallest and they can be easily swapped between but the biggest reason is due to how a computer counts. The most commonly used counting system is the hexadecimal (edit: sorry, I meant base36, hexadecimal is base 16) system which is from of 0 to Z. So 0, 1... 9, A, B... Z and symbols have their own block but that varies bit as to which character-encoding scheme is used. If you have a set of files that all start with the date and you sort by name. Under the D/M/Y system you get, 01-01-2010 01-02-2010 01-10-2009...

Battlefield 1 Open Beta Thoughts

The Battlefield 1 open beta (or bata if you're American), has just ended. Now it time to figure out weather you should pre-oreder or not. The answer is NO, you should not pre-order Battlefield 1. Well thanks guys for that very informative talk, I'll see... wait, what do you mean I have to actually talk about it. Fine whatever random person on the internet. I was only able to manage 3.5ish hours in the beta, I would of liked playing more but I'm busy. I'll start off with a very simple list of the Good and Bad in the Beta. The Good Clean and Informative User Interface. 60 tick Servers No Americans Battlefield Feel The Bad Only one map No offline The Neutral Class System Weapon and Map Balance I don't often bring up UI design but when I do, there is something there. I can't can't quite put my finger on it though, maybe it's the clean white style, the animations, placement, context. It just fits and refreshing somehow....

PC vs Mac...

Today I'll be comparing the oldest competitors in the industry. PC vs MAC. I wont be going into detail about hardware or even software but I'll be talking about the general differences of philosophies between these two camps. Since I'm not in my 50's I don't have first hand experience of the early days but I do of the the last 10-15 years. The biggest difference is the fact that the PC market is made up of heaps of different companies such as Intel, AMD, NVidia, IBM, Asus, Gigabyte, Sony, Acer, Logitech, Razer, Sennheiser, Antec, Kingston, Hitachi and so, so many more and then some more behind the scenes the consumer never hears about. Wheres on the the Apple side, you've got Intel, AMD, NVidia and Apple themselves. The Experience When you get an Apple product whether it be a desktop, AiO, laptop, tablet, phone, watch, you know exactly what you are getting because Apple controls every facet of the experience as much as they can which results in a overal...

What I want in the next Battlefield and other thoughts on Battlefield

For future reference*Written before the official announcement in the morning of 2016/05/07 Battlefield The game practically I grew up on. To give a bit context, I first got into gaming with games like Driver, Simcity 2000, The Sims 2, Trainz, so on. I first got into Battlefield with BF2 December 2005, a few months later we got an internet connection installed but I didn't actually start playing online until about 2008. There were two main things I loved about all those old games. 1 . The ability to play the entire game [apart from multi-player features ofc] offline. 2 . The ability to mod the game files to your liking. And what's missing from games these days? So don't be surprised when I don't board the hype train. I still play BF2 today because it was the last [in my eyes] real battlefield game, heck I got over 2500 hours logged. Also lets not forget BF2142 which is basically bf2 but set 132 years later. I kinda skipped BFBC2, to give a bit more detail....

My first thoughts on the Spring 2016 anime season. *Spoiler Free*

So I'll keep it short and sweat. I've watched all aired episodes as of writing. I will keep spoilers to a minimum as much as possible. Official (*=Unofficial) English translation contained within「」. You can find my watch-list on Hummingbird (I know MAL is better but it's too late now) hummingbird.me/users/APasz *I have no idea why the text colour is all messed up and can't seem to fix it* ** Due to an Earthquake in Kumamoto on 2016-4-17 00:25 JST「2016-4-16 15:25 GMT」 Sakamoto desu ga? episode 2 was postpond. Bungou Stray Dogs 「Master Stray Dogs」 This one is quite interesting. The characters abilities line up with their favorite author. If you get the refrences then you'll like this anime but even if you don't you'll still have a bit of fun at least. Bishojo Yuugi Unit Crane Game Girls「Beautiful Girls Playing Crane Games*」 Anime styled flash based but isn't half bad. Story is a bit far fetched. It's a short form. I wouldn't expec...

PC vs Console... March 2016

I would like to preface this by saying that I don't own and never have owned a console but my field of expertise is computing. I do have a lot of experience with consoles first hand though. PC vs Console, what's the difference? Consoles are for the most part non-up-gradable or customisable beyond aesthetics. You are at the mercy of XBL/PSN when it comes to being able to play your games online. You are also that the mercy of developers as to the experience you get. Probably the most intimidating difference is the sheer amount of stuff that the PC has, in terms of games, software, hardware and their various configuration possibilities. Perceived cost both short and long term. I would like to state very clearly that both PC and Console have a place. Cost First up is cost. I'll break it down, (everything will be in AUD) Hardware = XBO $500 - PS4 $480 - PC *$1300. (specs below) Games = Console $90 each - PC ~$65 each. At release. Online play = XBL $60/y -...
